Time flies.....

When I was trying to beat the AI (tycoon) in the stupid monopoly game....

The AI in that game is a total bastard.....Whenever the AI landed on chance and community chest, the AI gets paid...and when I landed on these spots, I get fined. What the heck? And I have been to jail more than I roll the dice...after hours of playing using only my strong will and determination, (strategies and luck don't work in this game because the AI has an unfair advantage....)

Finally, I owned the AI!!!! (Click the image below for larger view of my victory)

Crap, better stop wasting my time on this stupid game and start planning my future......

Red Alert 3, the game that doesn't make sense but enjoyable...

Red alert 3 is the sequel to the popular command and conquer: Red Alert franchise. As a huge fan of the game,I quickly get myself a copy of that game through extortion from a friend. I was hoping to see new designs of my beloved prism tanks, tesla tanks, black eagle jets and the mighty grand cannon...To my utter disappointment, those units are no longer available. You can only choose 3 "countries" which are the factions of the game. So fine, maybe they keep it for future expansion. The new faction in the game after the demise of the great Yuri is the empire of the Rising Sun, which in fact is much like yuri, a psychic commando/schoolgirl like Yuri prime, fast and versatile units....etc. It gives me the feeling that Yuri faction is disguising as the Empire of the Rising Sun or maybe rules in the shadow.

The gameplay is fun and exciting as the A.I is quite challenging. For the second time in an RTS strategy game, I actually focused on micromanagement and the use of special skills..the first one being Company of Heroes. I've to use different strategies to counter the A.I's attack which can easily overwhelm my army if i screwed up at some point. I can no longer spam the Apocalypse tanks in the game..which is sad. A bunch of cheap-ass Tankbusters and some air units can easily give my Apocalyse a hard time. did I mention that apocalyse lost its Anti Air abilities???? Futhermore, the bullfrog has only anti-air capabilities...It sure doesn't make sense in real weaponry. Have you ever seen any AA guns that can only shoots planes? Look at the 88mm flak cannon...it's deadly against both planes and tanks!!!!! So on to the Red alert 3......

What makes the A.I so powerful? The developers programmed it to include different units to counter different attacks when performing an assault. Which means if you spam only 1 type of unit, then you can just start building a new army...or maybe starting a new game. The A.I is also quite fast at expanding its base, conquering all the ore mines on the map. The killing factor that makes the Brutal A.I tough is that the A.I actually or kinda cheat in the game. There's a point where i dominated 70% of the map...with most of the ore mines under my control. Cash was flowing in like Bill Gates's Earning Counter.. but I was always getting a hot girl saying "insufficient funds". This is due to spending most of them for my units (no base defense at all, all goes to building units). I was having a considerable army at that time. And guess what, my opponent, the Empire of the rising Ass actually built a large force ( not to mention with tonnes of base defenses) and overwhelmed my armies and drove back straight to the heart of my base....I was watching the A.I destroying my base bits by bits while still in disbelief....

The second scene was: I was attacking the A.I's army and managed to destroy most of the enemy's forces. The A.I then started to build more land units to defend against mine. I thrashed their forces for the second time. They continue to concentrate on the land forces to defend against my assault. Like any other great strategists will do, I secretly build up a large naval fleet, considering that I had minimal losses on my land units...I had the money to construct tonnes of submarines and the powerful dreadnought warships....The enemy clearly has no chance against me now, for I will use the dreadnoughts to bombard the enemy's base for the back then whoop them from the front. When I reached near the base, I saw A.I had an insanely large naval force..How the hell did the A.I do that????? I am already dead broke and the A.I still has the resources to contruct a naval base when I have destroyed most of its ore refinary, and still destroying waves of land units that was thrown at me. This is too much dy man.....

After a few trials and errors, I finally developed a strategy to torture the Brutal A.I back...Some took when in 10-15 minutes to finish the A.I off......(Click for larger resolution)

Musou Orochi...

Musou Orochi, the crossover of 2 epic games, Dynasty Warriors and Samurai Warriors. The game features over 70 warriors for the player to choose from.

Storyline:
Orochi, the demon-king fuses the 2 periods (Three Kingdoms (China) period and the Sengoku Period (Japan)) in order to conquer the world. Now the 2 warriors from diffrent timeline must join forces together to defeat the demon-king. (Note: Orochi is a mythical demon from the Japanese Mythology.) Sounds a bit dull and boring...like any other RPG games, a demon king or dark lord desecend upon the mortal realm, heroes gather together to defeat him.....lame...6.0/10

Gameplay: The gameplay is the same as the 2 games mentioned, Dynasty Warriors and Samurai Warriors, the typical hack-and-slash through hordes of enemy grunts. However, some new elements were introduced in this game where player can control up to 3 warriors and switch them during the battle. The warriors are categorised into 3 type, Strength, Speed and Skill. Speed type is my personal favourite as they can unleash inifinite "R1 finisher/combo or whatever t is called"(Strength and Skill type requires the rage bar or "musou" bar).. Too bad the developers didn't include the infinite castle challenge mode in Samurai Warriors.. 7.5/10

Graphic: The graphic is the same as Dynasty Warriors and Samurai Warriors..same animation, same structures and even same maps... Wonder how will the Warriors series look like in PS3? 5.5/10

Soundtrack: The games uses most soundtracks from the previous games but do introduce some new ones as well...The soundtrack are quite awesome to say at least..(The one called Limpid Luster is very nice..) 8.0/10

Verdict: It's interesting to have a game with warriors from both sides..however it can be a bit boring as the gameplay, graphic and sountrack (almost everything) were imported from the previous games...7.0/10

Divine Intervention

In this game you are a bad-ass priest (he looks like one hell of a priest) armed with hangun, shitgun and even an uzi, battling against the forces of evil aka zombies and demons...

The game is quite short, only 3-4 scenes and you will fight with the boss. The graphics are nice but the action is a bit stiff (try aiming your gun at your back and you'll see the arm is twisted 360 degrees). The graphics are nice (beware, extrem graphcs here, with tonnes of blood, gore and multilations...) A great game to kill your time I supposed?

Author's feedback and rating: A nice, quality flash game. Good graphics, easy controls....I wish they implement better gun fight animations, more blood and gore in the upcoming sequel (if there is any).

Lego Star Wars II...

Lego Group had proven that the company not only good at producing toys..but also computer games. Lego Star Wars II is one of the most entertaining games out there., thanks to its humorous contents and tonnes of actions in the gameplay.

Storyline:The story re-tells some of the original trilogy's most famous moments through cut-scenes that feature no dialogue at all.... 7.5/10

Gameplay: It's an action adventure game, just like GTA San Andreas. Instead of dealing with mafias, mobs and gangters, player will have to deal with characters built by lego bricks. There is much freedom in the game where player can roam around freely and kill anyone that crosses you or any strangers that you feel like killing. Players can even customize their own characters. The humourous gameplay will keep the player entertained, eg. Princess Leia's ultimate attack, the "Bitch-Slap x 3".. (normal characters can only slap the opponent once and normal characters have 4 health...that would mean the "Bitch-Slap x 3" will take away 3/4 life...scary) 8/10

Graphics: The graphics in the game are interesting and high quality (Nice use of shadings and lighting effects, plus it's colourful, dragging the player into the Star Wars Fantasy world). The game also offers the most sophisticated star-shops and towering robots...made from lego bricks...... 8.5/10

Audio/Sound: The music in the game is quite entertaining. The sound effects from the laser guns and light sabers are nicely done.....7.5/10
Verdict: This is definitely one of the most entertaining Star Wars game out there..(Nominated as the best PC action game in 2006)... 8/10

Company of Heroes...

Company of Heroes is a historical strategy game set during the World War 2. The main campaign focus mainly on American operations such as The Battle of Normandy where player must guide a small army to battle with the Axis forces.

Factions in the game:
There are only 2 factions in the game, the Axis (German) and Allied (America).
Axis: strong tanks and defense system.
Allied: versatile and fast moving.

Gameplay: Like any typical RTS game, player must build a base, then gather resources and annihilate your enemies. In Company of Heroes, player gather resources by capturing strategic points and ammunition points, much like the resource gathering system in the Warhammer 40k: Dawn of War series. The player can choose between the 2 modes in the skirmish game, Annihilation (Player must eliminate all of the enemies) and Victory Point Control (Player must capture the strategic points on the map to win the game) ...The A.I of the game can be describe as "cunning" and challenging. They often attack the places which are left unguarded and tend to surround your army and destory them.... 9.2/10

Graphics: The graphic of the game is simply awesome, with fully destructable environment, adding a much more realistic gameplay. The units, tanks, structures and effects (gun battle anfd explosions) are designed and created in full details. 9.4/10

Audio The sound effects are quite good but not that unique.... 7.5/10

Verdict: Company of Heroes is simply one of best RTS game alongside with Command and Conquer Series, Blizzard's Starcraft and Warcraft Series as well as Warhammer 40k series. ...9.5/10

God of War 2...

The long awaited sequel of God of War. The developers brought back our much beloved "anti-hero", Kratos, the "kill-first-then-ask-question" Spartan Hero. The story start off after the ending of the first game. (For more info, play the games, it's worth your time or read them from wikipedia....)

Storyline: In the first game, the developers introduce Kratos and his background (his family, his past..etc) This time, the story focus much on the Great War of the Titans or Titanomachy.
The way how the developers tell the myth of the Titans was interesting and enjoyable (Imagine reading thousands of words on Wikipedia....). 8.4/10

Gameplay: Just like the first game, player controls Kratos in a third person view, and is able to unleash devasting combos and magic spells to crush the enemies. The player is able to perform deadly grapple moves (scatter kills, mutilation..etc) by just pressing some simple buttons (sometimes only 1 button is needed to a nice killing-effect) The combos are easy and fun to watch. That goes the same to the puzzles (player must perform some tasks to open doors, pass the stage..etc) in the game, though some can be frustrating. A.I of the monsters have been upgraded as well. They no longer awaits you to brutally slaughter them and will work in groups to take you out. 9.6/10

Audio/Sountrack: The sound effect is simply superb, dragging the player into a "virtual yet realistic Ancient Greece". The wailings of the soldiers, the clashing of the swords and even sound effect from the magic spells are nice done and put together. As for the soundtrack, it is sung by a "choir", which made it different from other games. The background music provides a entertaining gameplay environment (soothing music when you are in the enemy-free zone, and challenging musics when it comes to solving puzzles) 8.8/10

Graphic: The graphic of the game surpasses any of the ps2 games. The developers made good use of rendering and shading, bringing the "virtual Ancient Greece" to life. The structures are awesome (they have some of the biggest structures (including living structures, the titans) in any of the games ( Final Fantasy 12 seems to have a big city and some big terrain, but a big titan? nah....) The game also features excessive violence and gore, which unexpectedly made it popular. 9.7/10

Verdict: The game almost scored a perfect in my point of view. I like almost every aspect of it. The ending of the game made me crave for more God of War series. (Darn, it's like a drug now...cant't stop playing God of War ..... can't stop...) Hopefully they will come up with something more intense in the upcoming sequel, God of War 3...9.8/10

Orks have big guns....

Warhammer 40k: Dark Crusade is a RTS game created by Relic Entertainment, the "genius" behind the much successful Company of Heroes.

Gameplay: Like the previous Warhammer 40k: Dawn of War and Company Heroes, player will have to capture strategic points to gather resources. The "Relic" point in the game will enable player to unlock the most powerful unit of the faction that the player is using. Player can choose seven different factions, the Space Marines, Chaos, Eldars, Imperials, Orks, Tao Empire and the Necrons has in the campaign and skimirsh. The campaign is similiar to the Total War campaign, which a player will choose a faction and conquer the provinces in the world of Kronus. .... 8.0/10

Graphics: Though the graphics may be outdated, the laser and aura effects still tops today's RTS games. The animation are nicely done with some quite brutal "chain-sawing" and "bone-smashing" mele attack. (Ork warboss:"Me like smashing limbs...") The battle scenes can be breathtaking, dragging the player into a futuristic warfare between the 7 factions....8.8/10

Audio/Sound:The music is topnotch quality. The sound effects of gun battles, shell bombardments, and swords clashing add another plus to the game. Wouldn't you just love it when the orks say: "We have machine guns"...... 8.6/10

Verdict: This game really brings out the term "Futuristic Combat" in the RTS gaming. Fan of Warcraft? You'd find this game familiar..... 8.8/10

Command and Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars...

logo
The long awaited Tiberium Wars is out!!! With the introduction of a whole new faction apart from the GDI and the Brotherhood of Nod, the Scrin. So which faction will conquer the rich tiberium earth?

Factions in the game.

Scrin: Alien race. Appear to be the Zerg-like aliens from Starcraft series. Posseses the most advanced technology in the game (Like any fictional alien race...)

GDI: The good human faction...Posseses high end technology, powerful tanks and the "best visual effect" superweapon... Similar to be the "China faction" in the Command and Conquer Generals Series...(Mammoth tank and Overlord tank...or perhaps it's the other way round?)

NOD: The good old sophisicated terrorist organization, the Brotherhood of Nod, lead by the charismatic leader, Kane (nice name...) Resembles the "GLA" from the Command and Conquer Generals Series..Uses stealth and speed to overcome and destroy their opponents...

Gameplay: The developers bring back the good old interface from Tiberian Sun and Red Alert 2...gotta love the "girl" saying "contruction" complete"...It has a mixture of both the old and new gameplay (from Generals Series)...and I would say the A.I is pretty impressive...So my rating for gameplay is 8/10

Audio/Sound:The sound is rather good, the explosion, the sexy "female assistant"..nuff said....8.5/10 (*some voices..."You pervert!!!")

Graphic:The main focus of the game is its graphics. It has the best graphic up to date, only second to Company of Heroes (In my opinion, CoH still has better graphics and gameplay).. The explosions are nicely done, and the tanks and buidlings are made in full details..... 9.2/10

Verdict: This is a"must play" game for any RTS fanatics...However, if you have decided to get this game, check your hardware requirements first as this little "sweetie" requires some high-end graphic card and huge amount of disk space and RAM....9.0/10

King of Fighters Maximum Impact 2

King of Fighters: Maximum Impact 2 is the 2nd series of 3D-KOF. It's fast-paced, has interesting and east-executable combos and of course some "hot babes" which id the main reason for me to play this game..ahem..on to the rating....

Storyline: Though the story is yet fully revealed, nonetheless it sounds interesting as it involves "aliens" and "supernatural beings"...The best part is most of the "main characters" have their own story to tell, which added the replaybility of the game. 8.8/10

Graphics: This characters and combos were nicely done in this game. Though it's fast-paced..i mean real fast, the game still runs smoothly which is quite impressive...Good animations and physics...8.2/10

Gameplay: Same-old KOF style..command for the moves are the same...As for the boss, fankly speaking, it's the worst ever KOF-boss in the history. (I can defeat the boss with a perfect anytime..using sliding kick or tonnes of combos.) 7.0/10

Music/Audio: The musics and BGMs are quite good. I enjoyed almost everyone of them...8.5/10

Overall: It's a nice and interesting game to play....unless you prefer slow-paced fighting games... 9.2/10

Samurai Warriors 2...

The second installment to the Samurai Warriors series. Frankly speaking, not much changes were made to this game, maybe just a slight changes on the character designs. The combos were ok but not impressive and the soldiers or minions are as dull as ever. (Imagine cutting through hordes of tree trunks..) Not much efforts were put on the animation section.

Storyline: still the same old sengoku storyline. (If you played the 1st series, you'll know the story already. This is repeated for the old characters...though new battlefields were introduced in this games.) 7.5/10

Graphics: The creators slightly upgraded the graphics for the game. Not as dim as the 1st installment...Combos are much prettier which the elemental effects..8.0/10

Gameplay: Still the same hack-and-slash game..(Guess what, it's the idea of this game.) Though I hope that it'll have a bit more strategy gameplaying like Dynasty Warriors 5: empires were you are able to command your troops instead of letting them doing nothing on the battlefield...7.0/10

Sound/Audio: Nice music and BGMs for the scenarios..but the sound effect is poorly done. (All soldiers sounded the same when slashed...Clones? At least put more than 3 types of "screaming"...) 7.5/10

Verdict: Can be addictive but can also be boring especially when you need to play the missions all over again to unlock certain things or weapons...IMO, this game really need to be more realistic in terms of the physics/animation...(try make the minions move around the battlefield more often...don't let them stand there like idiots..and if possible..add a bit gore...it seems weird when there's no blood when slashed by a sword.. perhaps they are mindless cyborgs?..hmmm...)

Rating:8.5/10

My call for F.E.A.R has been answered!!!

Monolith Production has recently revealed that they will be producing F.E.A.R Extraction Point, an expansion to the original F.E.A.R horror shooting game…I was thrilled at the news as it was one of the best games in 2005..(Alma…you are cute…):p

Monolith, thanks for answering my call…(for further information, please read back F.E.A.R this below..)

While waiting for the games’s release in October (maybe??), they once again shock the world (perhaps I’m the only one..) by annoucing F.E.A.R 2 which is curently under development..promising even more horror and gory sights…(my all time favourite..)

Check it out at http://www.gamespot.com/pc/index.html

Hopefully in F.E.A.R 2 more weapons will be made available..(gimme a nuke..radiation gun…enhanced plasma gun…gigantic nail gun or perhaps a chainsaw??..a gattling cannon would be just nice to be added in the array of the weapons..)(*Santa: No! No! You’ve too much already, I’ll limit the weapon to only a candy stick and a teddy bear..)>_<|||

This coming September will be a busy moment for me as I’ll be hunting for PC games..Neverwinter Nights 2, Resident Evil 4 (PC), Samurai Warriors 2 (PS2), Age of Pirates, ..etc and Uni reopen…

Spill more blood,tear more limbs,

sky will be dark, earth will be red,

and none shall stop my wrath….

crowd: someone pls stop this guy!!!!

Age of Empires III is a terrible game....

As written above, this game is horrible, though the graphics are superbly nice. Here's the review.

Graphics: Nice and detailed building and units. Marvelous physics on the actions..(fighting, cutting, bombarding..etc)9.5/10

Gameplay: Lousy gameplay. (Unit limitation is the one i hate the most..but this is out of topic..) Each nation supposed to have different and unique units and AOE III did the opposite. Almost all the units present in each nation. (WTH? better make just 1 nation instead of 8..hello Microsoft..you are wasting money.. ) Second most frustrated issue is that the cpu only knows how to build cannons and artilleries. Bad A.I!!! Bad A.I!!!0.5/10

Sound: The audio and music in the game isn't that impressive compared to other RTS games..(Warcraft??) The sound of explosions isn't that "loud"...6.5/10

Overall, the game's rating is bad at best...

p.s. Been very busy during the holidays..but still manage to try some programming stuffs....as for the novel writing..need some inspiration...adios

Oblivion Rocks!!!!!

Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion may be one of the best games in history (my gaming history)...for those who knows nothing about this game, imagine this..GTA ( Grand Theft Auto in a fantasy world)..u'll have total freedom int he game...killing anything u want...and learn any skill u like...(my favourite would be chain lightning..*Power!!! Unlimited power!!!! (Emperor Palpatine, Star wars, 2005)

Graphics: the graphics of the game is superb...from the surroundings to the characters..as well as the spells..(Lightning!!!!).. one hint: you can mess with the bodies/corpse of your opponents..which undeniably..i'm damn good with it!!! Rating 9.5/10

Gameplay: total freedom!!! nothing can be much more satisfying than freedom in the game. Furthermore, the creators says thisis AN action RPG They actually mean THIS IS AN ACTION RPG...Counter Strike gameplay plus Neverwinter Nights storyline ( unfortunately, neverwinter nights still beats oblivion in storyline and settings)..one last thing to note is that you can ride a horse with that, how cool can it be? Rating 9.5/10

Storyline: Well, it's just any typical rpg game where you are the hero and the saviour of this world. you'll fight monsters with super strength and superpowers who wanna dominate the world...In my opinion, Diablo and Neverwinter Nights, as well as Warcraft 3 have better storyline than Oblivion. (I want a game where my character can become Darklord..unleash destruction upon the foolish yet annoying human race..wuahahahaha) 9.0/10

Audio: The audio in this game is somehow resembles the real world. Birds cirping, swords clashing, people mumbling..and lightning zapping...nice..9/4/10

Another thing that is worth to note is the weaponry and spellcraft in the game. You'll have a lot of weapons and spells to choose from..however, there's no dual weapon battle system..and moreover..no ultimate destuction spell like the Meteor Storm!!!! (Neverwinter Nights have the best collection of spells by far)

Lastly, the main storyline is quite short though. And I kinda don't like the ending part. (I'm the hero, but some stupid, annoying bugger sacrifice himself in the end...and became hero...#@$#$%%$)

Overall rating: 9.4/10....(finger licking good)

Well, time to continue zapping people..wuahahahaha

F.E.A.R this!!!

Finished the game F.E.A.R.. quite a nice, horror, and brutal game..limbs flying around, body being blown into pieces, and enemies got nailed to the wall..If those who like movies like the Ring and Ju-On..this is a great game to be experinced in dark hours..( preferbly midnight)...My friend-Sudheer and now Diban the great shouting and cursing while playing the game. ( Don't worry pal, SHE will always be with ya all)..my rating for this game 9.0/10....

Gameplay- nice gameplay syetem..a bit like half life but in terms of excitement..half life still rules..8.9/10

A.I-The so called or self-proclaimed Next-Gen A.I IS the next gen A.I...The enemies are not stupid to sit their and let you blow their heads off...they work as a team..(stop moving around and lemme hit ya!!!)//9.5/10

Graphics- The graphics are superb..from the characters to the surrounding..so detailed..and spooky too...plus tonnes of gore and blood..( Beat this Ju-On)9.4/10

Audio: The creators have done a superb job on the audios and musics..real damn spooky i would say. Nice! 9.5/10

One last thing is the weapon system...F.E.A.R got a nice arsenal of weaponry..howerver the game lacks blugeoning weapons..a bloodied katana or a chopping axe would add spice to the game...
(Fettel..lemme chop you..this time u bleed..wuahahahahaha)

Monolith..gimme a sequel!!!
Next stop..oblivion!!!!!
