Chinese archaeologists have unearthed what they believe is a 2,400-year-old pot of soup, state media report.
The liquid and bones were in a sealed bronze cooking vessel dug up near the ancient capital of Xian - home to the country's famed terracotta warriors.
Tests are being carried out to identify the ingredients. An odourless liquid, believed to be wine, was also found.
The pots were discovered in a tomb being excavated to make way for an extension to the local airport.
"It's the first discovery of bone soup in Chinese archaeological history," the newspaper quoted Liu Daiyun of the Shaanxi Provincial Institute of Archaeology as saying.
"The discovery will play an important role in studying the eating habits and culture of the Warring States Period (475-221BC)."
The scientists said the tomb could have held the body of either a member of the land-owning class or a low-ranking military officer, the report said.
Xian served as China's ancient capital for more than 1,100 years.
In 1974, the terracotta army was found there at the burial site of Qin Shihuang, China's first emperor.
He presided over the unification of China in 221BC and ruled until 210BC

Just the other day, I saw a few express buses were speeding and zig-zagging on the highway...and few days ago a bus was tailgating me...it was so close til I can see the passengers (one was test-messaging) in the bus!!!!

Cops have ace up their sleeve

KUALA LUMPUR: There is a mini casino in the Cheras police college but don’t bet on catching policemen gambling for real.
The mock casino is actually a training ground for policemen to wise up to the ways of gamblers and cheats.
“To catch a thief, we need to think like a thief,” said Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Ismail Omar after launching the three new initiative plans at the police training college yesterday.

In an effort to combat illegal gambling activities, the police have set up a mock casino at the police training centre in Cheras. ‘To catch a thief, we need to think like a thief,’ said Ismail.
Since 2000, the force had sent 318 officers for training by experts on gambling.
“By setting up this mini casino, we can train our men here instead,” he said.
In the mock casino, selected policemen are taught the various gambling games available in casinos and other entertainment outlets.
The policemen learn about the simple one-arm bandit right down to how the intricate card games are played.
In fact, there are gambling machines costing RM110,000 at the mock casino, sponsored by Genting Malaysia Bhd.

When asked what kind of “skills” the policemen had acquired, Ismail replied: “That is confidential information. We do not want the enemy to know what we know.”
To another question on whether he was afraid the trained men would abuse what they had learnt, Ismail said he put his faith in his men.
“Insya Allah (God willing), they will know their responsibilities and will not go against their badge,” he said.
At the event, Ismail also launched a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) manual and Criminal Investigation Department (CID) portal.
The SOP manual is meant as a reference for investigating officers, especially when they are investigating serious crimes such as murder, armed robbery, rape and assault.
Some 3,000 copies of the manual were printed and distributed to all CID and investigation officers on Sept 8.
The CID portal, meanwhile, can be used by CID officers to share reports and monitor cases that are under investigation.
“With the system, officers can cross-transfer information, reports and directives easily,” Ismail added.
He said that the portal also allowed for two-way communication between higher ranking officers and their subordinates.

Watching porn can help cure PE condition
WATCHING porn movies can help cure premature ejaculation, experts said.
Sin Chew Daily reported that a man who was diagnosed with prostatitis went to seek treatment at a hospital in Guizhou, China, and was asked to watch porn movies.
He paid S$120 (RM288) for the treatment.
Singapore urologist Dr Lin Fa Cai said the hospital might want the patient to masturbate while watching the movies, in order for him to discharge “unhealthy sperm”.
He said the movies used in such treatments were specially selected.
Dr Yang Zhi Jian from a men’s health clinic in Singapore said watching porn films could help as patients learn skills to improve their sex lives.
He, however, said he had never used the method before.
Another sex expert, Dr Yu Wei Siang, said the method could stimulate the production of male hormones.
