The mindset of Malaysian drivers III....(Updated)

This morning when I was driving to work on the Elite highway and Plus highway, I noticed the buses and lorries were very "obedient" on the road. None of the lorries and express buses were speeding, zig-zagging, tail gating and all the highway stunts. For the first time, I actually saw the express buses using the inner most (slow) lane!!!! It's a miracle....and they only overtake other vehicles when necessary....

I was shocked to see this and I thought I woke up in the wrong country!!!

This could be due to the news that recently shocked the entire nation...

Hopefully they'll remain like this forever and our highways and roads will be less dangerous.. They are back to the useless reckless way now..#!$#$@#

Just an update from the tragic incident:

Not guilty?? you must be kidding me.. So who's mistake is this? The innocent divider that is always on the road/highway which can't do anything but staying there 24/7 under extreme weather condition??? Come on....seriously...

The mindset of Malaysian drivers II

"10 killed in bus crash; Perak MB wants night express buses stopped"

This is nothing new in Malaysia and the dumb MB only wants night express buses to be stopped? What about the buses that travel in the morning??? He should take his car down the highway and experience it himself...our mighty F1 (Fucking Ones) bus drivers!!! (Sorry for the foul language here, can't help it...)

As far as I can tell, the morning buses are no different than the night buses in terms of speed and suicidal behaviour... The government should come up with a set of strict rules and punishment for those drivers that speed and drive recklessly on the road.
But then again, I wouldn't have high hopes on that.....

Spending my Christmas day at Starhill...

I started my Christmas day at Starbucks with a mug of hot chocolate and a piece of chocolate fudge...

Saw some dancing at Pavillion...

Went to KLCC to find some books...

And back again to Pavillion for lunch..(TGI Fridays isn't as good as Chillis)

The only thing that I want to talk about here is the movie Avatar (The sci-fi one, not the Avatar cartoon/animation). I would say "AVATAR" is the movie of the year. It has got the best CGs (increadibly stunning!!!!), good storyline and nice action in it. And it shows the true nature of the human race....(I feel ashamed now..)

If you haven't got the chance to watch it in the cinema, you should do it now...I mean now!!!

"Toruk Machto!!!!!"

The mindset of Malaysian drivers...

The "Malaysia Boleh" spirit is getting way out of hand, especially on the roads. Most Malaysian drivers think they are F1 drivers (drive like F1 drivers? Boleh...no problem...easy nia) and often speed, overtake, perform 90 or 360 degree turns or tail gating like crazy on highways and small narrow roads. Remember this:

"There is no glory at the end of the road, only sorrow"

Among them, the bus drivers are the worst. Lorry drivers came very close in second. I am a frequent user of the highway and I've never seen a bus driver (not mini bus here...the big express bus) driving slowly and steadily on the highway. They speed as fast as the F1 drivers too..no, maybe faster than Michael Schumacher or Kimi Räikkönen, with a much bigger toy...Moreover, they change lanes when they feel like it (sometimes overtaking other vehicles using the inner most lane then zoom diagonally to the fastest (3rd) lane...In other words, they drive as if they are the king of the roads and doesn't give shit about the lives of others. No other vehicles (except the big heavy tankers or lorry "balak" but they are slow, so not a problem) dare to challenge them because they know if their "proton" or other normal cars crashed into one of them, they would pay a heavy price. Unlike the bus drivers, they know that they will usually escape unharm (or slight injuries) in a collision..

Typical scene on a Malaysian road..vehicles stopping on the yellow box

We see news of accidents almost every day. Please, drive safely on the roads. If you are one of the drivers that love to race on the highways, please go to Sepang Circuit or get yourself a copy of Need for Speed. Don't involve other innocent road users. Remember your loved ones and others too...

PC Fair 2009 @ KL Convention Centre...

Hope to get some freebies there...ended up with a bunch of brochures....

All i can see are people walking around...where are the goods?

Author's feedback: Too many people squeezing into the small area..I see more butts and boobs than the computer products (Don't blame me or call me a pervert, they are the ones showing it to me blocking my view on the computer gadgets..what to do?) Price is similar to the ones in LowYat, maybe slightly cheaper, by a few ringgit if you are lucky, or a few cents just to make you happy..

Price is not really negotiable...I tried to ask for the DDR3 ram for 150 bucks (price tag 159). The promoter said ok, let me ask my boss first. He then turned around and started wrapping up the stuff which I thought I am darn bloody good at bargaining..In the end I paid RM 159 for the RAM..Promoter: Sorry la, boss say cheapest dy, cannot cut further....

One thing that I regret buying at the PC fair was a cooling fan for my laptop. Usually my laptop is fine without any fan, I just want to give my laptop a better treatment aka feeling cooler a bit..and guess what, my laptop shuts down itself (due to overheating) when i used the cooling fan...%#@$%@% (first time shutdown)

MCA Wars..the epilogue

After a long gruesome battle between the two forces...it's a

surprised? expected? or just don't give shit about it?

Ong loses confidence vote, MCA in chaos

By Lee Wei Lian and Clara Chooi

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 10 — After a dramatic recount, MCA delegates passed a no confidence vote against party president Datuk Seri Ong Tee Keat by a wafer-thin 14 vote majority, and also overturned the suspension of Datuk Seri Dr Chua Soi Lek.

But it appears the party has been thrown into chaos because delegates also defeated a motion to specifically reinstate Dr Chua as deputy president.

Party secretary-general Wong Foon Meng told reporters that this meant Dr Chua would be reinstated as an ordinary member but not as deputy president.

Dr Chua said in a short statement on his blog that he accepted the decision of party delegates.

Ong was evasive when asked if he would resign after losing the confidence vote.

"You cannot simply don't follow what I say," he answered in cryptic fashion to a question of whether he was resigning.>Both Ong and Wong said the party central committee would meet soon to discuss the implication's of today's EGM vote. Wong later announced that the central committe meeting will be held on Thursday Oct 15.

"Any development and action to be taken will be discussed collectively by the central committee.

"There is nothing much we can elaborate on at this juncture," said Ong.

Ong had lost the vote of no-confidence motion by 1151 against 1141 votes.

The delegates also voted by 1204 against 1095 votes to approve the motion to annul the Presidential Council's decision to sack Dr Chua and the subsequent central committee decision to suspend Dr Chua instead.

But delegates surprisingly voted by 1184 against 1110 votes against reinstating Dr Chua as deputy president.

While it may appear to be Barisan Nasional’s (BN) biggest nightmare come true with the second biggest party in the ruling coalition split like never before, it could also provide an opening for the party to move forward.

The central committee may decide to appoint an interim president and vice-presidents Liow Tiong Lai and Kong Cho Ha have already been mentioned as possible candidates.

But what is clear from today's results is that the biggest loser is Ong who while he has not immediately done so will have to resign.

Dr Chua may not have been reinstated as the party No 2 but he has shown that he remains a potent force in the party and Ong had made a mistake in trying to sideline him.

But uncertain days lie ahead for MCA with both camps not expected to give up the fight easily.

Slim PS3 is out...that means...

(Warning: This entry is mainly about my rumblings on the product, ignore the words and enjoy the video in the center for the information about the slim PS3)

With the release of the slim version of PS3, i sense that a PS4 prototype is under development/has been completed. They would wait for most of the people to get their hands on this version and bang, here comes PS4, just like what they did after they have launched the slim version of PS2)..This is very same tactic employed countless times by Apple..though Sony is much more considerate compared to the big fat Apple.

Using the current timeline , I guess we would be able to see PS4 in another 2-3 years and IPhone 3GX (3G for 3G and X stands for tenth generation ) in 1-2 years time. Though I know very well this bloody business tactic, yet it is still tempting to get one ....newer, lighter, smaller, quieter, and CHEAPER than the first bulky 60GB version....aargh....

Pic: (upper) Slimmer and smaller PS3 (lower) normal big ass PS3

Maybe I should force myself to stick to my PC and watch the videos on YouTube for entertainment and satisfaction (they have a lot of complete game speedruns there..just watch those as if i am playing them myself)... Anyone wants to buy my old PS3 and IPhone??? Need money for the new PS3....

I just love and hate technologies...

Ok, I retract what I've said earlier....

Oi!!! Where is my train????

First and foremost, I would like to apologise to the public for making a misleading and unguided review on the KTM service. There are no longer any comfortable trains like the one I have shown in the previous post, they have replaced the trains with the normal commuter train (yes, the shit, smelly and narrow train we use everyday), dragged by the old engines.

The KTM service now has gone from worst to the condition far worse than worst. I'm not talking about the train delays for it has become too common until I'm so used to wait for the train that I could sleep while standing. This time, the thoughtful KTM management team is providing free and natural "in-train sauna baths" for the commuters at random hours. Just last week alone, I have the opportunity to enjoy the "sauna bath" ...TWICE! How lucky....

Sauna the KTM type, "cheap for the commuters, no cost for the management"

  • You will be placed in a tiny, non- air conditioned space overcrowded with tonnes of sweaty commuters.
  • You shall enjoy the body odours instead of the sweet aromatic scent from the herbs and flowers. Researchers in Malaysia have found out that body odours have healing effects and contain no harmful chemicals found in herbal remedies. It's 100% natural and free!
  • The weather in Malaysia is the heat source of the sauna. No infrared, charcoal or other matrials are required to produce the heat. It's 100% natural and free!!!

Sounds interesting? There's more.....

Here's some interesting information to know about the KTM:

KTM, The Unique Train service only found in Malaysia

  • When the KTM management team is given the task to "upgrade" the service, you should expect the service to become worse rather than being improved. By doing this, you will avoid disappointment and anger which is not good for your health. KTM management has recently "upgraded" their service with more delays and breakdowns.
  • A train service is available every 15 minutes on non-peak hours. On peak hours, a train is made available depends on the driver's mood. They can choose to come every 30 minutes, 45 minutes, forever or cancel the service without any notice.
  • For Malaysians, "to queue" is to obstruct people from coming out from the train. When you hear the announcement "please queue at the red line", prepare to form a barrier with other Malaysians to stop the passengers from coming out from the train!
  • The ticket machines are built to annoy and frustrate the commuters instead of saving their time and easing the queue. The machines will only accept the notes (money) after 1350 trials. Providing new notes will not solve the problem as the machine will still reject your money.
Words alone are not enough to describe the wonders of KTM. I strongly encourage everyone out there to visit Malaysia and experience it yourself. You'll be amazed at what our "Kereatapi Terunik Malaysia (KTM)"...(translated as "Malaysia's Most Unique Train") can offer!!

Note: The KTM is not for those with a weak heart and mind...Take it at your own risk

Now we know why the train is always late....it's human powered...Malaysia boleh!!!

R.I.P Michael Jackson...

Adapted from BBC news:

Pop star Michael Jackson has died in Los Angeles, aged 50.

Paramedics were called to the singer's Beverly Hills home at about midday on Thursday after he stopped breathing.

He was pronounced dead two hours later at the UCLA medical centre. Jackson's brother, Jermaine, said he was believed to have suffered a cardiac arrest.

Jackson, who had a history of health problems, had been due to stage a series of comeback concerts in the UK, beginning on 13 July.

Speaking on behalf of the Jackson family, Jermaine said doctors had tried to resuscitate the star for more than an hour without success.

His sudden death was a really shocking news to a lot of people in the world. When my mum told me that Michael Jackson has passed away this morning, I was so surprise that I woke up instantly from my usual morning drowsiness. I was thinking, "Is my mum playing a joke on me?"

I hurriedly turned on my computer and checked it for my self, and it's true, the legendary pop singer has passed away...

Rest in peace, Michael Jackson. Thank you for all the wonderful songs and performance that you have provided us during your lifetime. Your legacy will continue and you will be remembered in the hearts of your fans....

God bless your soul....

"Drag Me To Hell" movie review.....

An interesting horror movie to say. The story is both horrifying and hilarious at the same time. The effects were awesomely done and the actors were great in making the movie lively and realistic.

The biggest credit, without any doubt, would be given to this old lady here, The Mighty Old Lady of All Time..Without her outstanding acting, the movie won't be as interesting as it would be...

She can kick serious ass , before and after her death

A must watch movie for the horror-loving movie addicts!!!

ps: The old lady reminds me of the one that "cursed" me in Amsterdam......an advice to all, never angers an old lady, or you'll get it!

Are we near to the origin of the universe???

Recently I stumbled upon an interesting article on the "Most Important Image Ever taken by humankind", a deep space photo taken by the Hubble telescope known as the Hubble Ultra Deep Field. I have to thank my sudden curiosity about the space, milky ways and the universe for the discovery of this wonderful information...

What is the Hubble Ultra Deep Field??

Adapted from Wikipedia:

The HUDF is the deepest image of the universe ever taken in visible light and it will be used to search for galaxies that existed between 400 and 800 million years after the Big Bang (Redshifts between 7 and 12).[2] The star near the center of the field is USNO-A2.0 0600-01400432 with apparent magnitude of 18.95.[citation needed]

The field imaged by the ACS contains over 10,000 objects, the majority of which are galaxies, many at redshifts greater than 3, and some that probably have redshifts between 6 and 7.[1] The NICMOS measurements may have discovered galaxies at redshifts up to 12.[2]

Click Here for a detailed image of the Ultra Deep Field

In other words, the scientists are close in finding what actually happen before and during the "Big Bang", a theory that states the formation of our universe...(That's what they claimed...not me...)

There are infinite possibilities of what might occur before the Big Bang, such as the M-Theory (Membrane Colision that creates the Big Bang theorem..I am no cosmology here...Google for more information of these terms..Nothing....Big Ball...Pangu (Chinese Myths), Aliens....etc

Maybe some day we'll see God on the other end creating the universe...who knows?

Damn you Atheists and your Hubble Telescope!!! No spying!!!

And hence it is known as "sweet potato yam", a name given by my aunt....

Time flies.....

When I was trying to beat the AI (tycoon) in the stupid monopoly game....

The AI in that game is a total bastard.....Whenever the AI landed on chance and community chest, the AI gets paid...and when I landed on these spots, I get fined. What the heck? And I have been to jail more than I roll the dice...after hours of playing using only my strong will and determination, (strategies and luck don't work in this game because the AI has an unfair advantage....)

Finally, I owned the AI!!!! (Click the image below for larger view of my victory)

Crap, better stop wasting my time on this stupid game and start planning my future......

Dinner at Jogoya...

Jogoya is one of my few favourite dining places in KL..reason? The restaurant serves up to 200 types of dishes and desserts (that's what they claimed), nice ambient for dining and most importantly, an endless supply of awesome food, yes endless. It is a buffet restaurant which you can eat all the sushi's, spring rolls, abalones, satays, Häagen-Dazs ice creams..etc to your hearts content ...

Sushi platter

My first stop whenever I go the restaurant is the sushi bar. They have most of the sushis and sashimis found in a typical Japanese restaurant, salmon, tuna, kaviar, maki rolls, you name it....except the big, fat juicy toros (tuna belly, which they won't serve it due to the price of toro...) Too bad for me and lucky for them... otherwise I would have finished all their supplies...(I ended up whacking their raw abalone cubes instead ...can't remember the amount I have taken, maybe half of what they have that night?)

Sukiyaki with scallops, beef, chicken and other stuff

Next, we had sukiyaki (steam boat dish ) with beef, chicken, scallops and some vegetables...and....the meat platter

Meat platter

I love this combination...Lamb chops, satays and loads and loads of abalones, both raw and fried...(since you have no tuna belly... I shall eat all your abalones!!!). I was anticipating the juicy steam cod fish (which i had before) but it wasn't available that night..(maybe they took it off the menu knowing I would be there that night...son of a b***h..therefore I shall continue to whack the abalones....)

As for drinks, we had tea (imagine a scene where 3 teenagers having chinese tea like the elders..), tonnes of coconuts and AK-47 (me only...due to it's violent nature..and I love violence...nice pairing right?)

Fresh coconut and AK-47

I can't get enough of the ever refreshing coconuts...damn. It's nice and soothing after a fiery wasabi in the mouth. AK-47 is an alcoholic drink which I kinda love it and hate it..The taste is somewhat odd...All I can say about the drink is .....Bullet in the mouth!!!

Desserts....

And lastly, the mouth watering desserts. Puddings and cakes...We didn't manage to get some shots of the Haagen-Daaz ice creams as we finished them the moment we got them (It's Haagen-daaz..not Walls)..and we were busy tasting the puddings and cakes too....while enjoying the coconuts and engaging in some I-can't-remember-what-we-talked-about ocnversation..(must be the after effect of AK-47...)...

The work by Yvonne...

Lastly, thanks to Yvonne for the wonderful photos....I had my hands and mouth full...
